The spiritually IMMATURE are prideful while the MATURE are humble but ALL are to be faithful, respectful and thoughtful.

 

POINTS

IMMATURE are prideful

Calling

o   Read John 15.19; 1 Peter 1.13-16; Titus 2.11-14; 2 Corinthians 5.18-19

§  Discuss what it means to be “chosen out of the world?” In what ways do you still struggle with “the world?”

§  What does it mean to you to be “holy?” How does your life reflect holiness?

§  What would you consider to be “good works?” What “good works” are you zealous for? Which are you involved with?

§  How is God using you to draw and reconcile the lost to Him?

 

Equipping

o   Read Romans 12.2; John 17.14-17; 2 Peter 1.5-9; Jude 1.20-21

§  Make a list of the areas of your life that are in need of transformation by God.

§  Search the Bible for these areas topically and compile a list of the verses you find helpful.

§  Develop a plan to regularly review these verses as part of your daily devotions.

§  Pay attention to the changes these truths and insights make in your thoughts, attitudes and actions.

§  Remember to thank and praise God often for His Word and Spirit that are transforming you!

 

Living

o   Read Matthew 5.14-16; James 1.27; Matthew 13.22-23; 1 John 2.15-17

§  Discuss what it means to be the “light of the world.” How is your life giving “light” to those around you?

§  In what ways do you care for “widows and orphans” or the “least of these?” 

§  Consider the local churches and organizations near you that provide services to this segment of society. Now consider volunteering your service for God’s glory.

Meditate on James 4.1-10
