Read Philippians 2.3-8

What areas of your life are driven by “selfish ambition” or “conceit?” How so?

What situations, circumstances or relationships cause you to struggle in demonstrating humility? Why?  

Consider how difficult it would be for you to go from a well-paying, well-respected career to a minimum wage menial job. With this in mind, discuss how much Jesus sacrificed by giving up all authority, power, honor and glory to save and serve you?

In what ways has Jesus’ humility and service affected your life?

In what areas or ways do you need to grow in humility? What is your plan for change?

Read 1 Corinthians 4.7; Ephesians 4.7; Romans 12.6-8; 1 Corinthians 12.4-11; 1 Peter 4.10-11

These passages teach that your gifts and abilities [both natural and spiritual] have been given to you by God because of His grace.

What natural and spiritual gifts do you possess?

Consider God’s goodness to you and discuss the importance of using your gifts and abilities to serve God and others out of gratitude.

Read 1 Peter 2.4-5; 1 Corinthians 12.7; Ephesians 4.11-12

In what ways are you currently serving others to build up the church and the community? What other ways might you use your gifts and abilities gratefully?

Are there ministries that you feel called to and equipped for that your local church is not involved in? Are willing to lead these ministries? Why or why not?
