Gospel BASICs
Giving
Read Acts 20.35
Do you believe this is true? Why or why not?
Do you enjoy giving yourself and your resources to support the work of the church? Why or why not?
Read John 1.12, 3.16; Ephesians 4.7-8, 11-12; 2 Timothy 1.7, 9
After reading these passages, discuss how generous God has been in His “giving” to you.
Discuss the value of what God has given you. How does God’s generosity toward you stir your love toward Him?
Read Matthew 13.44-46
What is of more value to you than your salvation?
What would you not be willing to let go of to demonstrate your appreciation and love toward God for purchasing your life with the life of His Son Jesus? Why?
When is the last time you gave of your time, talents or treasure to support the work of God’s kingdom? Did you find your giving enjoyable? Why or why not?
Read Luke 16.10-13
Discuss how important “faithfulness” is in your entrusting of someone with your home, property or children.
In light of your discussion, consider how faithful you have been in stewarding God’s resources entrusted to you [your life, abilities, opportunities, money].
Would you consider yourself faithful? Why or why not?
If you were to measure your faithfulness with God’s property as you would measure someone else’s faithfulness with your property would expect God to trust you with more? Why or why not?

Read, study and meditate on 1 Chronicles 29.1-22 this week. Notice the generous hearts of the people toward God and their joyful response in giving back to God what was His.
Prayerfully consider a plan this week for how you might better give of your time, talents and treasure to the building of God’s kingdom in Saginaw and beyond.
